Letter of Recommendation

I would consider it a compliment if you were to ask me to refer you to advanced academic study.

I will consider writing a a letter of recommendation on your behalf to an accredited institution of higher learning under the following conditions.

Current Undergraduate Students

  1. You have earned a final course grade of A in all courses that we have shared
  2. Your earned GPA as of the date of the letter request is at least 3.7 on a 4 point scale (as confirmed by the academic administration staff) and you are within nine credits of completing your undergraduate degree program
  3. You have no record of academic dishonesty at any institution of higher learning
  4. If I decline to write a letter of recommendation on your behalf, you will accept my preference without question.

Current Graduate Students

  1. You have earned a final course grade of A in all courses that we have shared
  2. Your earned GPA as of the date of the letter request is at least 3.75 on a 4 point scale (as confirmed by the academic administration staff) and you are within six credits of completing your academic program
  3. You have no record of academic dishonesty at any institution of higher learning
  4. If I decline to write a letter of recommendation on your behalf, you will accept my preference without question.

Procedure for All Requests

To request a letter of recommendation, please send the following data to me by e-mail.

  1. A statement from the academic administration staff attesting to your current GPA and the number of remaining credits to be earned in your academic program
  2. A statement from you attesting that you have no record of academic dishonesty at any institution of higher learning
  3. A note identifying the specific courses that we shared
    1. Course identifier
    2. Course name
    3. Start date
    4. Institution & Campus Names
  4. A draft letter to the accredited institution of higher learning to which you are applying for admission (Microsoft Word format)
    1. Include the correct postal mailing address for the application evaluation committee of the program
    2. Identify the academic program to which you are applying
    3. Identify the skills that the institution will seek when evaluating your application
  5. The date by which I must prepare and submit the letter of recommendation
